Balsamic vinegar adds a depth of flavor to a salad dressing. Balsamic vinegars have been produced in the Modena and Reggio districts of Italy for hundreds of years. The most flavorful (and most expensive) balsamic vinegars have been aged in casks for many years and are intensely aromatic and sweet.
